Many thanks to everyone for your support during Children in Need Day; and a special thank you to those who sent in cakes for the bake sale. We will let you know the final amount raised once all the monies have been counted.
Mufti-Monday was a real success and again we thank you for sending in a range of bottles, chocolates, gifts and wrapping paper. We look forward to seeing you at the Christmas Fayre, 5:30pm – 7:30pm, on Friday 24th November.
Congratulations to Mrs Saunders and her family on the safe arrival of baby girl, Charlotte. We wish them all the very best of luck.
Thank you to all parents who attended Parents’ Evenings at the beginning of this month. The partnership between home and school is particularly important to each and every child. We hope you found the meeting with your child’s class teacher informative and that it gave you the opportunity to talk about your child’s progress in terms of their academic achievements and personal achievements.
During Parents’ evening on Tuesday 7th November we also offered an ‘e-safety’ drop in session that was followed up by a 30 minute presentation. This was led by Heather Jeavons, a Local Authority ICT Consultant; PC Paul Davies, Young Persons Officer for Dudley police and Gail Hooper from the school nurse team. The feedback from parents that attended was positive.
Well done to our children who entered Dudley Library Service Book Quiz. Our Y5/6 team made it to the quarter-finals and our Y3/4 team got through to the final and secured third place. Keep reading!
You will have recently received two books of raffle tickets to sell for our Christmas Fayre, Grand Prize Draw. The tickets cost 50p per ticket (£2.50 per book). Prizes include a £100 Intu Voucher, a Smiggle Bundle, a Luxury Christmas Hamper, vouchers for Totally Uniform and Rob Newey Butchers to name but a few. All completed raffle ticket books should be returned to school by Thursday 23rd November with the correct money in a sealed envelope. Please can we ask that any unsold tickets are returned to school in time to be sold before the grand draw takes place at the Christmas Fayre.
Please can we remind parents to park respectfully in the local area. It is important that residents can get on and off their drive and sometimes double-parking along Cot Lane can make this very difficult; especially when traffic flow is busy.
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
As a school we have a statutory obligation to track attendance and punctuality and inform parents/carers if there are any concerns. This means children should be attending school regularly and should arrive on time. If your child’s attendance falls below 90% or we have concerns about their punctuality, we will contact you to discuss ways to improve the situation.
Please can I also remind parents that absence during term time should only be requested in exceptional circumstances and it is important to note that penalty fines have now been reinstated.
CREATIVE CHRISTMAS TREES
Again we are taking part in the local Christmas Tree Festival. We have a tree at Holy Trinity Church which will be on display from 1st – 3rd December. Our second tree will be on display at Wordsley’s Red House Glass Cone who will be hosting their first ever Christmas Tree Festival. You can see this tree from 18th November to 7th January. As always, thank you for your support in helping your child to produce our school tree.
