Dear Parents/Carers

Christmas Productions

‘Higgledy, Higgledy Nativity’ Well done to our youngest children in school for their stunning performance. They were all brilliant!

‘Prickly Hay’ KS1 Performance was equally exciting and again the children did a wonderful job.

Thank you to everyone who came to watch the performances. It really is one of my favourite times of the year – such a wonderful time to be a Headteacher. I am sure, that like me, you were very proud of your children.

Thank you to everyone who attended the KS2 Carol Service at Holy Trinity Church on Tuesday evening. It was a lovely evening and gave us all chance to reflect upon the true meaning of Christmas. Credit goes to all the children who took part and thank you to everyone who supported.

Snow

In preparation for the winter, I would like to remind you of the procedures that are in place at school with regards to severe weather.

We always aim to stay open when it snows but in the event of the Local Authority not making a blanket decision, the decision to close school will be at the discretion of the Headteacher and Chair of Governors.

If a decision is taken to close, information will be shared with local radio stations, a message will be sent via Parent Hub App and a notice will also be added to the school website.

Please do not call school as there may not be anyone there to answer the telephone.

A New Arrival

Congratulations to Mrs Timmington who has had a little baby boy.

Mum and baby are both well.

Now the fun begins!

Reminders for the New Year

School Uniform: Thank you to all parents/carers who ensure that children come to school in the correct school uniform – shirt, tie, trousers/skirt, black or grey socks, appropriate school shoes and a jumper or cardigan. We often get comments about how smart our children look and this is really important for us to maintain.

Children will also need an outdoor coat to wear on the playground as the wintery weather can be pretty cold. A reminder that small, stud earrings and watches are the only jewellery allowed and nail varnish should be removed.

School Nurse

If there is anything that you feel you would like to discuss with the school nurse, she will be available at 9:00am on Monday 13th January 2020 and Wednesday 5th February 2020. She can offer advice on a wide range of health related issues.

Forest School and Christmas Trees

If you have a real Christmas Tree at home and would like to donate it to school at the end of the festive season, then we are happy to ‘recycle’ your tree in our Forest School Area for den building. Please bring your tree to school on Monday 6th January (INSET Day)

Pleasant Close entrance will be open for you to drive onto the site and leave your tree by the gate/fence.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Enjoy the festive period and a have well-deserved holiday.

We will look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 7th January 2020.

Yours sincerely, Miss T Powell
